Belly Laugh Day

We went to Chuck E. Cheese!

Here's Jarek and J playing air hockey.

Here's my old friend Ryan. I got to hang out with him on Thursday night for the first time in at least 5 years - and then him & his family just happened to show up at Chuck E. Cheese! How strange!

Here's me with Trenece's kids - Christian, Meadow, Jarek and Daisy.

Jarek & me.

Meadow & me.

Daisy & me.

I went to the Minnesota Rollergirls bout! Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of the bout itself. Our seats were up there and with the fast pace I didn't think I'd get any good ones. This is the pre-show - hooping! Hooping is big in Portland. They had some of the roller girls and people from the audience come out and try it.

National Pie Day

We celebrated my mom's retirement tonight at Khan's. That's my mom and my uncle Larry next to her.

Answer Your Cats Questions Day

I flew to Minnesota today! The pictures above are from my flight from Portland to Seattle.

And from Seattle to Minneapolis.

National Hugging Day

These are some bean sprouts that my friend is growing. Mung beans.

This is my opinion of Obama's first full day in office. I really hope it keeps up. I'm optimistic.

Do Dah Parade Day

Here's Sophie just lounging this morning - I thought she looked so cute!

These are two cats that live in the neighborhood. I hadn't seen either one of them for awhile, but ran into both of them while walking Sophie this morning. They're both very sweet cats. The black one's name is Rose. I'm not sure about the white one.

Kid Inventors' Day

I thought it would be fun to see pictures of my plants later in the year, to see how much they grow and change. Yes, I give my plants human names. I think it's fun.

Viktoriya
Viktoriya is a purple passion that Damon gave me on my 30th birthday. It was a little scraggly thing with 4 stems, but now there's so many - this picture doesn't really even show how long some of them are!

Joey
Joey is a baby of Viktoriya and is growing even faster than she did! He has some huge leaves and a couple stems that are even longer than his mother's!

Penelope
This is a peperomia variegata. I bought it because it looked sad, it looks better now, but has a long way to go.

Javier
Javier is also a croton - spirale. He doesn't grow very fast but I think he's cute.

Mary Sue
This one is a nerve plant.

Gretchen
This one is a hemigraphis exotica. Can you tell I like plants with purple and red hues? She's in bad need of some clipping, I'll have to do it soon.

Alice
This was my first plant. Damon gave it to me when I first moved to Portland. She was just a little thing in a little pot - she has grown A LOT! She fell out of my window twice and survived!

Jaime
These are my strawberries that I grew from a Buzzyseeds kit almost two years ago. They're not doing well now, but I'm holding on hoping they'll pick up in spring. A spider layed eggs on them months ago and they really took a hit from that - there's still webbing on some of the leaves. They've flowered but never fruited.

THE BABIES (I haven't named any of them)

These are Alice's babies. I think I'm going to make 3 plants out of them and give them away.

This one is a white flower - alyssum. It's from a Buzzyseeds kit and is still pretty new. I keep forgetting to water it.

Five baby spruce trees! This is another Buzzyseeds kit. I'm going to have to put them in their own pots in the next couple months.
